Connecting to the Internet

Le Moyne College provides internet connectivity via wired and wireless access throughout campus.

Wireless Internet Access for Students and Employees

Students and employees have wireless access via “eduroam.” Students and employees can sign into “eduroam” using their Le Moyne username and password and will have wireless access across campus. This network is intended for any personal WiFi device that supports WPA2-Enterprise/802.1x encryption (Le Moyne email address and password required) and for Le Moyne owned/issued laptops.

A benefit of using the Eduroam network is that your laptop or device should automatically connect and authenticate when you travel to another college or university that uses the system. Be sure to use your @lemoyne.edu email address for your login ID when you first configure access so this feature works properly. For more information and a list of participating Eduroam campuses, visit the Eduroam website or see the Le Moyne Wireless Connection Information Sheet.

Getting Connected to Eduroam

Go to your internet connection settings and select eduroam, sign in using your Le Moyne Email address and password. For more information about connecting specific devices to Eduroam use the following guides:

Wireless Internet Access for Guests

Guests to campus can gain internet connectivity via “Dolphin-guest" in public spaces across campus. Dolphin-guest is an open unsecured wireless network available in academic and administrative facilities for guests and visitors who require convenient and temporary wireless access. To access the network, an individual must connect to Dolphin-guest and open up the browser of their choice. They will be presented with a page that requires them to submit the phone number of an SMS (text messaging) equipped cellular phone. Once the phone number is submitted, users will receive an authentication code via their phone, which they can then enter in their browser to connect to the guest network. Each device must be authenticated once per day.

Having Trouble Connecting to the WiFi?

Try these steps to get connected:

  • Make sure that your password is up to date by logging into to login.lemoyne.edu
    • If your password has expired, you won’t be able to connect. You will have to reset your password on a device that has an internet connection. You can find information on how to do that here.
    • Once you have reset your password, please try to reconnect to the WiFi.
  • Try forgetting the network on your device, and then logging back into it.
  • Restart your device.

If you are still having trouble, please contact the IT Service Desk.

Dorm Connection for Students

Wired access via Ethernet is available to all students in residence halls. Due to the increasing number of devices connecting wirelessly, we strongly recommend using the wired network for a faster and more reliable connection. The College requires all Smart TVs, media systems, and game consoles using the wired network to be registered at deskreg.lemoyne.edu. If your computer doesn't have an Ethernet port, you will need to purchase an Ethernet adapter, or use the wireless Dolphin-IOT network. You will also need an Ethernet cable (Cat-5e Cable) to connect your computer to the jack in your room.

  1. For more detailed information on how to register your computer, click here.
  2. For more detailed information on how to register your game console, click here.
If your device is not compatible with ethernet, you may still be able to connect it to Le Moyne College’s wireless network through Dolphin-IOT. For more information on connecting your devices to the Dolphin-IOT wireless network, click here

Wired Internet Access for Students

Residents of on-campus housing may be required to register certain devices for an internet connection. Devices such as gaming consoles, desktop computers, or smart TVs with an ethernet port need to be registered for a wired connection in able to access the internet.

Devices will need to maintain the most recent software versions and security updates as well as support WPA2-Enterprise/802.1x encryption. The use of ethernet adapters is not supported by Le Moyne College.

Connecting to DeskReg (Wired Connection)

On a device that has an internet connection navigate to the DeskReg website. Once DeskReg is open go to the internet connection settings of your device. Follow these steps to register the device:

Wireless Connection to Dolphin IOT

Certain devices lack the ability to connect to EduRoam and are not equipped with ethernet ports to access a wired connection. Le Moyne offers an alternative, Dolphin IOT, for these devices. Dolphin IOT is a wireless network that allows students to register their device and receive a personal password to connect the device to the network. Devices that might utilize Dolphin IOT include gaming consoles without ethernet ports (ex: Nintendo Switch), older Smart TVs, desktop computers, or streaming devices.

Students can register their devices on the Phinternet site using their normal Le Moyne account information. The registration process is very simple and steps can be found at the link below.
