When to Apply for Hetterich Center Funding

Timeline Overview (for each month in the Fall and Spring Semesters):

The timeline for the review process is provided below:

  1. 1st to 15th – Proposal Submission Period:
    ○Applicants submit their funding proposals by the 15th of the month.
    ○Submissions are accepted during the first two weeks of the month
  2. 16th to 20th – Initial Screening:
    ○The Director/Chair conducts an initial screening of the proposals.
    ○This stage includes checking for eligibility, completeness, and adherence to submission guidelines.
  3. 21st to 29th – Proposal Evaluation and Review:
    ○The committee conducts reviews of the proposals.
    ○Proposals are assessed based on merit, alignment with the funding goals, and the strength of the proposal.
    ○The committee holds final discussions, ranks proposals, and decides which to approve for funding.
    Funding decisions are finalized and necessary documentation is prepared.

  4. 30th – Decision Notification:
    Applicants are notified of the committee's decisions by the 30th of the month.
    ○Approved projects receive confirmation of funding, while declined proposals may receive feedback.

What Happens After Your Proposal is Approved

Directions for Faculty:


Faculty members need to create an expense report and submit their application on Workday.

Directions for Students:

Students need to submit their accepted application to Dale Wilson ([email protected]) and Caterina Vasile ([email protected]) to receive the funds.
