Student Handbook

Hello Fellow Phins,

As members of this community, each of us contributes to the environment we experience every day. The choices we make, the way we treat one another, and the ways we respond to challenges all shape the kind of campus we create together.

College is a time of tremendous growth. It is a place where you will discover new strengths, encounter new perspectives, build meaningful relationships, and navigate moments of both success and adversity. None of us arrives fully formed, and no one moves through this experience without making mistakes. What matters most is how we learn, how we take responsibility, and how we continue growing in relationships with others.

This Code of Conduct exists not simply as a set of expectations, but as a reflection of our shared values as a community. It is intended to promote accountability, integrity, respect, safety, and care for one another. At its best, community standards work is educational and developmental, helping students reflect, repair harm when necessary, and continue becoming the people and leaders they aspire to be.

You belong here. Your experiences, perspectives, identities, and contributions matter. We also recognize that every member of our community carries visible and invisible challenges. In moments when conflict or difficulty arise, I encourage you to approach one another with empathy, honesty, and a willingness to grow.

My hope is that during your time here, you will not only achieve success academically, but also deepen your understanding of who you are, what you value, and how you hope to impact the world around you. Thank you for the role you play in strengthening this community and supporting one another along the way.

Welcome, and I wish you a meaningful and transformative year ahead!

AMDG,

Mathew J. Vincent, EdD
