What's New in 2027?

Prescription Coverage: New Copay tier for Specialty and GLP-1s for weight loss ($100 for a 30-day supply). Applies to all 3 medical plans.
Medical - HDHP: HDHP Plan Deductibles will increase to $3,500 individual / $7,000 family (the new minimums set by the IRS for embedded deductibles to qualify for HSA eligibility)
Health Savings Account (HSA): Maximum contributions increase to $4,500 individual / $9,000 family. Catch up plan limit remains at an additional $1,000.
Flexible Spending Account (FSA): The IRS has not yet announced the new maximums for Health Care or Dependent Care FSAs. The College will update the plan limits to the new maximums once announced. Employees must re-elect coverage if wanting to continue this benefit in 2027.

NEW BENEFIT: Voluntary Short-Term Disability (Non-Exempt Employees)

Le Moyne is introducing a new Voluntary Short-Term Disability plan through Guardian Life Insurance Co. for non-exempt staff. Employees who elect this coverage will be eligible to receive 60% income protection while out on an approved medical leave of absence.

Employees pay into this policy at a monthly rate of $0.521 per $10 of weekly benefit. This can be calculated as: Annual Wages x 60% / 52 weeks / $10 x $0.521

For example, an employee making $40,000 annually would pay $24.07 per month ($12.04 semi-monthly) and an employee making $50,000 annually would pay $30.06 per month ($15.03 semi-monthly).

The policy is subject to a 7-day elimination period, with benefits beginning on the 8th calendar day of leave. A short-term disability claim may last up to 26 weeks if supported, and will fill the gap between the start of a medical leave and a long-term disability claim.

Vacation Buy-Up

Full Time Staff and Admin may purchase increments of 1 or 2 weeks of additional vacation time in 2027.

Vacation time will be purchased at your current rate of pay. For example, an employee making $52,000 per year may purchase 1 additional week of vacation for $1,000 ($52,000 / 52 weeks) or 2 weeks for $2,000 ($52,000 / 52 weeks * 2).

The cost will be distributed evenly over 24 pay periods in 2027. You may use the tool below to help calculate your cost.

Vacation time through the buy-up must be used by the end of the benefit year on December 31st. Unused vacation will not be rolled over or paid out per the College’s vacation policy. Additional vacation will be treated as your traditional vacation, subject to the same terms and conditions as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

2027 Insurance Rates:

While overall medical plan premiums will increase by an average of 13.7%, the College will absorb a larger portion of the premiums to help reduce the impact on employees.

Employee contributions will increase by a net 6% in the ‘Employee Only’ and ‘Employee + Children’ tiers of coverage, and 9.4% in the ‘Employee + Spouse’ and ‘Family’ tiers.

All other plan rates will remain the same.
