Welcome to Le Moyne! This checklist is to help you prepare for your fall semester. Listed are the pieces of technology that you will need to bring to campus for your Academics and your living spaces. Academic Technology
❏ Laptop
Follow these recommended specifications for a personal computer.
- 7th Generation Core i5 processor
- 8GB of RAM
- 256GB Solid State Drive (SSD)
- 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) Display
❏ Webcamera
Classes this semester will feature in-person, fully online, or asynchronous instruction. As a result, a computer with a functional webcam or a functioning external webcam will be essential to the learning experience. Recommended Webcam specifications:
- Max Resolution: 720p/30fps
- Focus type: fixed focus
- Lens technology: standard
- Built-in mic: mono
- FoV: 60°
- Universal clip fits laptops, LCD or monitors
❏ Headphones with a microphone
If you need to use a Le Moyne computer, we support 3.5mm headphone jacks.
Residential Technology
❏ Coax (TV) and Ethernet Cables (Computer)
We recommend 25 foot cables to provide the most flexibility in setting up.
❏ Ethernet Adapter & Cable
- Gaming Devices must be connected via wired ethernet.
- Laptops and Desktops may be connected to the wired network, but may require an adapter if not included.
❏ Personal Printers (Not recommended)
Le Moyne provides public printers in most residence halls and all academic buildings. If you have a printer, you must directly connect it to your computer. Personal wireless printers are not supported or permitted on Le Moyne’s wireless network.
❏ TV with Clear QAM Tuner or a Converter Box
❏ Register your Computer, SmartTV (with an Ethernet port) and Game System (with an Ethernet port)
Register your device at deskreg.lemoyne.edu once you get onto campus to get online via our wired network using the device's MAC address.
❏ NO Wireless Routers
Do NOT bring a personal wireless router. These devices interfere with the campus wireless network and will be disabled by IT.
❏ NO Smart Home Devices / Streaming Devices
Always double check with the IT Service Desk to verify that your device is compatible with Le Moyne’s enterprise network. Devices that are currently non-compatible include but are not limited to:
- Nintendo Switch
- Roku
- Google Chromecast
- Amazon Firestick
- Amazon Echo Products
- Google Home Products
