Professor of English David Lloyd published an essay titled "Giving ‘Wings to the Mind’: ‘The Green Woodpecker’ and the Poetry of Jeremy Hooker” in Poetry Salzburg Review No. 40, 2023: 146-156. Hooker spent a year as a Le Moyne College visiting professor (1994-95), an experience he wrote about in his memoir, Upstate: A North American Journal (Shearsman Books, 2007). The author of 40+ volumes of poems, essays, journals, edited collections, and hybrid texts published over the previous 50 years, the 82-year-old Hooker is one of the United Kingdom’s most acclaimed poets.
