Chanda Jha, Ph.D., an associate professor of finance in the Madden School of Business, presented papers at several renowned institutions in India during his sabbatical in fall 2022. These institutions include Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi, Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, and Indira Gandhi Institute of Development and Research, Mumbai, and Institute for Human Development, Delhi. The papers Dr. Jha presented at these institutions deal with topics such as the effects of municipal bankruptcies on crime and entrepreneurship and the role of historical factors in shaping contemporary gender norms and determining gender inequality. In addition to presenting these papers, he also offered a workshop at the Indian Institute of Technology on "Empirical Research on Corruption."
