Farha Ternikar, Ph.D., of the Department of Anthropology, Criminology and Sociology, made a presentation on new frameworks in food studies at the Association for the Study of Food and Society. Using a post-intersectional theoretical framework, Ternikar highlighted how critical race theory, transnational feminist theory and new directions in disability studies are paving the way for future research on food and wellness. Ethnographic research is used to more closely examine how the post-pandemic wellness industry can better address both access and equity.
