The Ignatian Solidarity Network's annual Ignatian Family Teach In will take place virtually this year due to ongoing health and safety concerns in time of pandemic from Oct. 24, 25 and 26. This year's theme is Prophetic Resilience: Breaking Down and Building Up, and Le Moyne participants, remaining on campus but connected, will virtually join students, faculty, staff, alumni, and church and social service professionals from other Jesuit institutions in the U.S. as they explore, reflect and share on building capacities for healing and justice including issues of racism, and inclusiveness as our society struggles to walk a more just path path of inclusiveness and fairness and to foster the human dignity of all people and address that which divides human beings from one another.
The Teach In is one the largest annual social justice gatherings in the U.S. Please watch Campus Ministry's social media and the College's daily announcements for further information.
Started in 1997, IFTJ commences annually in the fall to commemorate the lives of the Jesuits and their companions martyred in El Salvador. The six Jesuit priests, their housekeeper, and her teenage daughter were murdered on Nov. 16, 1989, because the Jesuits were speaking out against the country’s tumultuous civil war.
More information is available at the Teach In is available here or by contacting Bill Dolan, S.J., at [email protected]. The cost of registration and conference participation fees are covered by the College.
