Marganski Publishes Article on Mass Murder in Sociology Compass

"Making a Murderer: The Importance of Gender & Violence Against Women in Mass Murder Events" by Alison Marganski, Ph.D., of the Department of Anthropology, Criminology and Sociology,  was published in Sociology Compass. This article reviews mass murder from a multidimensional perspective and places focuses on important yet overlooked factors - such as gender and violence against women. The article also analyzes incidents in 2018 (and presents information from other cases as well) that suggests that many offenders have histories of violence against women prior to mass-murder events or acts that are directly associated with them.
