A film by Patrick Lawler ‘76, a writer-in-residence in the Department of English, made its world premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival in Scotland on Aug. 10, 2026, where it won the Vision Award. The film, which was directed by and co-written with Ted Schaefer, is titled The Arrow at Rest at Every Instant of Its Flight. It will also be presented at the New/Next Film Festival in Baltimore, Maryland, from Oct. 1-4, and the Sitges Film Festival in Catalonia, Spain, from Oct. 8-18.
