Giunta Presents at American Chemical Society Conference

Carmen Giunta, Ph.D., professor emeritus of chemistry, gave two presentations at the recent meeting of the American Chemical Society, which was held in Chicago. The first, titled "Disciplinary identities among leading late 20th-century stratospheric ozone researchers," was in the Division of the History of Chemistry's award symposium in honor of Annette Lykknes. (Prof. Lykknes, of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, presented a natural science seminar at Le Moyne in Spring 2025.) Giunta co-organized the symposium with Brigitte Van Tiggelen of the Science History Institute. Giunta's second presentation, titled "CIAAW (the IUPAC Commission on Isotopic Abundances and Atomic Weights): a legacy of F. W. Clarke," was in a symposium Giunta co-organized with Gary Patterson, emeritus of Carnegie-Mellon University, on the career of 19-20th-century geochemist F. W. Clarke.
