Jha's Paper on E-commerce Published in Small Business Economics

Chandan Jha, Ph.D., the vice dean for faculty in the Madden College of Business and Economics and John K. Purcell ’65 Endowed Chair in Finance at Le Moyne College, alongside co-authors Nalin Ranjan and Sunny Kumar Singh, recently published a study in Small Business Economics. Their research analyzes how adopting e-commerce helps small and medium enterprises (SMEs) navigate financial constraints. Using extensive firm-level data from India, the authors demonstrate that expanding online sales effectively reduces delayed payments and alleviates perceived capital barriers, though the benefits are less pronounced for micro-sized operations.
