Hilary A. McManus, Ph.D., of the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences, was presented with the Northeast Algal Society's Frank Shipley Collins Awards for meritorious and exceptional service to the society and to phycology at the 64th Northeast Algal Symposium in Salem, Massacusetts, on April 25, 2026.
Dr. McManus has been a member of the society since 2002 and has served in the roles of nominations committee chair, secretary, convenor (twice), vice president, and president.
