The Newhouse Writing Awards results are in! These awards honor the best writing by student authors in multiple genres, with a prize of $500 each. Each winning title was selected through a blind judging process. This year’s awards go to:

Poetry Award: Rachel Williams for “THE CRAYOLA FACTORY”

Short Fiction Award: Jonathan LaDuca for “Mary”

Critical Essay Award: Carly Nicolai  for “Why Do We Adapt: Watchmen from 1986 to Today‘”

Creative Nonfiction Award: Florence Tamari for “A Shield of Love”

 Play or Film/TV Script Award: Destiny Jimenez for I’ll Be Here

Any Genre Award #1: Cloey Tierno for a poem, "Wild Horses, Running"

Any Genre Award #2: Konnor Cornelius for a script, Egg

Awards will be presented to the winners at the Creative Writing Student Reading on Tuesday, April 29, at 4 p.m. in the Reilley Room. All are welcome to attend.
