Carmen Giunta, Ph.D., professor emeritus of chemistry, made two invited presentations at the American Chemical Society conference on March 25 in Atlanta, Georgia, in a symposium on the History of Nomenclature, Symbols, and Terminology. The titles of his talks were "'Méthode de nomenclature chimique': Nomenclature that stuck and symbols that did not" and "The metric system in the United States".
