If you are using Zoom to connect with the Le Moyne community, here are some best practices to help create a more secure expereince:
1. Enable Passwords: Passwords add a layer of protection for your meetings. When scheduling a meeting, check the box that says Require meeting password under “Meeting Password.” To set this as the default option, visit the Zoom guide Meeting Passwords.
2. Waiting Room: The Waiting Room feature allows the host to control when a participant joins the meeting. When scheduling a meeting, check the box that says Enable Waiting room under “Meeting options.” To set this as the default option, visit the Zoom guide Enable Waiting Room.
3. Require Sign In: This restricts participants who can join the meeting to those who are logged into their Zoom accounts. When scheduling a meeting, check the box that says Only authenticated users can join under “Meeting options.” To set this as the default option, visit the Zoom guide Authentication Profiles for Meetings.
4. Lock the Meeting: After the meeting is in progress, hosts can lock the meeting so no other participants can join. Learn how to use this feature, as well as other host controls, by visiting the Zoom guide In-Meeting Controls
If you would like to schedule a time for an IT professional staff member to meet with you or your team to go over these features submit a request to https://servicedesk.lemoyne.edu or email [email protected].
