Larry Tanner, Ph.D., of the Deprtment of Biological and Environmental Sciences, presented two papers at the annual meeting of the Geological Society of America, held during the week of Oct. 10-14, in Denver, Colo. The articles were titled: "Paleosols as a record of long-term paleoclimate across the Cretaceous-Paleogene boundary in the west-central San Juan Basin, New Mexico, USA," and "Revisiting the origin of silcretes in the Paleocene Nacimiento Formation, San Juan Basin, New Mexico." Both presentations were co-authored by Spencer Lucas, curator of paleontology at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History in Albuquerque, N.M.
