Please join JoAnn Cooke of the Syracuse Zen Center for weekly mindfulness practice. Mindfulness is the practice of a moment-to- moment, nonjudgmental awareness of our thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and of the outside environment. It is known to have benefits for mental and physical health and well-being, especially for the reduction of the negative impacts of stress. It also helps promote mental focus, creativity and a sense of inner peace.
Practice will be held every Wednesday that school is in session starting on Feb. 7 and concluding on May 2. These sessions will begin at 4:45 p.m. and are free and open to all members of the Le Moyne community. Introductory orientations are available prior to the start of each practice session, which concludes at 5:30 p.m. and is followed by time for conversation about participants’ experiences.
