Leigh Fought, professor of history and director of Gender and Women's Studies, presented the keynote address, "The Book I Did Not Write: Other Approaches to Women in the World of Frederick Douglass," at the Frederick Douglass Across Times, Places, and Disciplines conference in Paris, France, on Oct. 12.
Fought's book, Women in the World of Frederick Douglass, has won the Herbert Lehman Prize for Scholarship in New York History and the Mary Kelley Prize for women's history, and is a finalist for the Harriet Tubman Book prize. Learn more about her work at her blog: www.leighfought.blogspot.com.
