The team from the DeRuisseau Lab recently attended the Experimental Biology Conference in San Diego, Calif. All three trainees attending (Brianna Eassa, Ashley Loeven and Dr. Candace Receno) received awards. The four presentations included:
Breathing and blood pressure in conscious and 1 percent isoflurane anesthestized mice. Co-authors: Ashley Loeven, Candace Receno, Caitlin Cunningham and Lara DeRuisseau. Ashley won the Barbara A. Horwitz and John M. Horowitz Outstanding Undergraduate Abstract Award and the Barbara A. Horwitz and John M. Horowitz Excellence in Undergraduate Research Award.
The pattern of breathing in young wild type and Ts65Dn mice during the dark and light cycle. Co-authors: Brianna Eassa, Candace Receno, Caitlin Cunningham and Lara DeRuisseau. Brianna was awarded the American Physiological Society Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship to continue this project over the summer. Candace was awarded the Minority Travel Fellowship.
