Kate Costello-Sullivan, dean of the College of Arts and Science and professor of English, became president of the American Conference for Irish Studies this weekend at the national conference in Boston. ACIS is the largest Irish academic organization in the world. The conference boasted representatives from 42 states, 175 American universities and colleges, and 15 countries. Kate was elected vice president in 2017, making her president elect. She also presented a paper, “gendered paralysis and Norah Hoult’s response to James Joyce.”
