Your Le Moyne Account

Your Le Moyne Username and password will be used to log into everything on campus, including Echo, Canvas learning management system, WebAdvisor, and MyPrint.

All students are given free accounts which provide access to the campus network, Email, Learning Management System, plus word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and a variety of discipline specific software.

Since this password provides access to so many campus resources, it is important that it be very secure. In an effort to establish "strong" passwords, all new passwords must meet the criteria below.

For more details on your Le Moyne Account please see Student Account Instructions or Employee Account Instructions.

Le Moyne College EMail Account

As a Le Moyne student and faculty are provided with an e-mail account through Google which can be accessed here.

All Students and Faculty are allocated unlimited mail storage space on Google’s servers.

Most College information is delivered electronically to your Le Moyne G-Mail account.  You are responsible for this information.  Failure to check this account regularly may result in missing important information.  You can access your e-mail from any computer on campus or any other device that has Internet access.  In addition, this account is considered a “lifelong” email account.

One feature of using Gmail at Le Moyne is a host of apps that come along. Overall, the Google offering is known as Google Apps for Education (GAFE) which includes the following, and more.

  • Gmail -Fast, searchable email with less spam
  • Calendar - Organize your schedule and share events
  • Groups - Create mailing lists and discussion groups
  • Hangouts - web-conferencing and chat
  • Drive - Create, share and keep all your stuff in one place
  • Docs - Open, edit, and create documents
  • Slides - Open, edit, and create presentations
  • Sheets - Open, edit, and create spreadsheets
  • Forms - Build free surveys
  • YouTube - Watch, upload and share videos

As a cloud service, Google Apps is constantly changing (improving, of course). For more information on all GSuite apps consider this resource.

2-Step Verification

Le Moyne College Information Technology highly recommends enrolling in 2-Step Verification whenever possible. 2-Step Verification is an extra layer of security for your account. You sign in with your password and then a code that is sent to your phone.

Canvas

One of the reasons that you chose to attend Le Moyne is our strong reputation for academic excellence and the overall learning environment that we provide our students. This reputation is not just about our world-class faculty and the personal attention you receive in the classroom, but also the technology we use to deliver our curriculum.

Since introducing Canvas as our learning management system in Spring 2014 our faculty and students have enthusiastically embraced numerous technologies to aid learning both in and outside the traditional classroom.

The First time that you log into Canvas you will be greeted by an “Orientation to Academic Technologies,”  which includes helpful information about the more widely embraced technologies on the Le Moyne Campus. It is expected that you’ll be familiar with each where it applies to your studies.
