International House (IH) was a community on campus dedicated to faith-based social justice that emphasized service locally and internationally. Addressing social injustices faced by people living in Central America was the founding principle. IH gradually developed into a community that acted on local issues with an eye toward what was going on globally. Established in 1963, International House embodied what it meant to be persons for and with others. Dedication to local service efforts was a key component of IH's mission.  Another initiative of IH was developing the first service and immersion program at the College. As an organization IH "closed its doors" in 2004. IH led the way in many initiatives - service, international service/immersion, raising awareness around such issues as poverty and homelessness. Many of IH's initiatives remain a part of the very fabric of Le Moyne College.

This scholarship was established in the name of William Bosch, S.J., longtime moderator of the International House program at Le Moyne College. Alumni of IH established this scholarship to acknowledge the impact the program and Father Bosch had on their lives.  It is hoped that students who apply for funding are pursuing service/immersion opportunities, volunteering in their local community, or pursuing a service opportunity for which they will not be paid.
