Asymptomatic testing requirements depend on students’ vaccination status and residential status. Click here for COVID-19 Information for the Campus Community.
Vaccinated students – During the first week on campus, all residential students will be tested twice with the rapid antigen test. Non-residential students will not be required to test during the first week. After the initial week, vaccinated students will only be tested on an as-needed basis based on new information and unique situations.
NOTE – More frequent testing of vaccinated students could be considered if we see an increase of breakthrough cases in vaccinated students, if the disease is spreading among a small group of individuals, if cases begin to spike in the surrounding community, or if directed to do so by Onondaga County or New York State public health officials.
College-approved vaccine-exempted students – Students who received an exemption from the College will be required to test, at a minimum, two times a week on either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday for the entire semester or until they have submitted valid proof that they are fully vaccinated.
NEW!! COVID Testing Protocol Changing for Rest of the Fall 2021 Semester
Due to the nationwide shortage of rapid antigen test kits, the COVID Office will be making changes to the current COVID testing protocol for the remainder of the fall semester.
Starting Monday, Nov. 15 the COVID Office will be supplementing the rapid antigen surveillance testing protocol with the pooled saliva protocol that was used during the spring 2021 semester. Pooled saliva testing will be performed on Monday and Tuesday of each week. Individuals or groups selected for the pooled saliva protocol will be notified via email. All members of the campus community are eligible for the pooled saliva testing. Learn more about the pooled saliva protocol here.
Rapid antigen testing will still be performed Monday through Thursday, but will only be used for symptomatic individuals, those with a confirmed exposure to a known case of COVID-19, or groups that are requested by the COVID Office to report for testing.
For testing center hours, please visit COVID-19 for the Campus Community.
NOTE - Students who are experiencing COVID-like symptoms should self-isolate away from others and contact the COVID-19 Office (coronavirus@lemoyne.edu), call Health Services at (315) 445-4440, or contact their own health care provider for symptomatic testing.
