Over the next few weeks, IT staff will update the phones of most faculty and staff (nearly 550 devices) as we prepare for a significant upgrade of Le Moyne's phone system in early January.
About 150 existing devices will be rebooted. The other 400 will be installed "inline" between the employee’s computer and network jack.
During this process, your phone, and possibly your computer, will be unavailable for up to 10 minutes. If a new phone is installed "inline," you may experience a slower network connection until the phone system upgrade is completed in January.
Phone updates will occur one device at a time during normal business hours (8:30 am - 4:30 pm). A member of the IT staff, possibly accompanied by a student employee and/or vendor, will walk building-to-building and office-to-office to make the upgrade. If you are unable to accommodate the change when IT visits, do not hesitate to ask the individual(s) to return.
